Tarrant Rushton Church – Medieval Amplifiers On the eastern face of the chancel arch
wall are two earthenware vessels that act as amplifiers. They were
probably placed there about 1458 to amplify the voice of the priest and
are the earliest known use of jars as amplifiers in England. |
